Your photos never leave your device
What happens to your files
- Your device converts the photos. The page sends nothing.
- The page has no ads, no account and no cookies.
- Cloudflare, the host of this page, measures how fast the page loads (Cloudflare Web Analytics). It counts page visits. It does not get your photos or their names.
- If the page has an error, it sends an error report to the server. The report has no photo, no file name and no file data.
- The page removes the location (GPS) from your photos by default. You can choose to keep it.
Licences and credits
This page uses free software. We thank its authors.
- libheif (LGPL-3.0) and libde265 (LGPL-3.0). They read HEIC files.
- libheif-js (LGPL-3.0). It brings libheif to the browser.
- exifr (MIT). It reads the date taken and other photo data.
- piexifjs (MIT). It writes the date taken into the new file.
- fflate (MIT). It makes the ZIP file.
You can replace the LGPL files
The libheif code is in three separate files. We did not change them. They are at /vendor/libheif/1.23.5/libheif.js, /vendor/libheif/1.23.5/libheif.wasm and /vendor/libheif/1.23.5/LICENSE. You can replace them with your own build of libheif.
